My Journey of Transformation and Entrepreneurship

I don’t know that I ever envisioned myself as someone who would start a business. But I was called to it through my own transformation. That’s the magic of this work.

Losing my father and separating from my husband, combined with years of not tending to myself or recognizing my own needs, left me filled with grief and anxiety that wreaked havoc on my body. I was overwhelmed with dread.

Therapy provided some relief, but it wasn’t until working with a life coach that I began to transform. My coach helped me slow down, tune into my physical responses, and name the difficult emotions underneath. With her support, I released harsh self-judgment and took empowered action aligned with my needs.

Through this process, I stopped the negative talk in my head and found compassion for myself. This allowed me to take emotionally risky actions and do things differently in my relationships.

As I progressed with my coach, my husband, whom I was now separated from, was diagnosed with a terminal illness. I cared for him through his illness and death, left my career of 20+ years, started a new relationship, and was diagnosed with cancer twice in six months.

In the past, any one of those experiences would have left me feeling overwhelmed and victimized. But after working through my negative beliefs and patterns, I could meet each moment with clarity and compassion.

I was able to feel the fear and grief and still connect to my deeper needs and wants. I could take care of others and myself without resentment or emotional exhaustion.

This calm allowed me to create the life I wanted – training to coach others, traveling, spending time with family, working on my own terms, and building an emotionally intimate relationship. I couldn’t have imagined feeling so free and fulfilled six years ago.

In the past, I saw life as a struggle requiring endless hardship to get scraps of joy. Now, I know the struggle isn’t real; it’s optional.

That’s what I want for you, too.

Love,

Colleen
